Paul and I took our cats in today to get them fixed. Today was possibly the worst possible day to do this. The temperature was about 35 degrees and it was raining heavily and very windy. We arrived at 6:45 AM and had to wait outside for the ASPCA mobile van that performed the procedures for about 2 hours. I would have felt worse for the cats if I had been better prepared myself. At one point I ran to see if the van had arrived and I could not feel my feet. I took that as a bad sign. The cats handled the situation remarkably well. We came back to pick up the cats at 2:00 PM and Gus has had a few hours to try to acclimate to his collar. He does not seem to be enjoying it as much as I do. He is supposed to wear the collar for a week. Paul and Andrea's cat, Buttercup, is already out of her collar. In addition, Gus is supposed to use newspaper for litter for the next week. It is going to be a long, smelly week.
