Quentin's Eighth Month

I think this last month was the busiest month since Quentin was born! Q learned so many new things this month- he thinks he is a two year old I swear! Here is the list...
1) says, "da da da"
2) eating real food at dinner with Mom and Dad
3) standing up in his crib (and anywhere else he can pull himself up)
4) sleeping schedule
5) When you say, "Where is Gussy?" he looks for our cat Gus
6) Had his first In N Out
7) Went to the beach for the first time
8) First Easter
9) Throws tantrums
10)LOVES when you chase him and say "I'm gonna get you!" :)

One of the biggest transitions for us was when I went back to work at the beginning of March. Although my first choice would be to stay at home full time, it has actually been a great experience for both of us. I love working and Quentin loves daycare. He loves the ladies who run it and he loves playing with the older kids. Knowing he is spending his time at a daycare he loves has made going back to work so much easier. I feel a little less guilty about it.

I am really enjoying being back at work and I love the school I am working at. I was originally hired for a six week substitute position and then I was offered a full-time permanent position as a Special Education Enrollment Teacher. If I could dream up the perfect job while I am a mom with young kids, this would be it. The position is at an independent study online school. I work out of the office in Simi two days a week and I work from home three days a week. It works perfectly for us because I can still work in education, doing what I love, and Q can go to daycare, which he loves, and he won't have to be there five days a week. I never imagined I would find a job in education where I get to work from home. Needless to say, I am really excited. The position is not a teaching position, it is an administrative position, which is a step up in a way. I am in charge of approving new special education students for enrollment, holding entrance IEP meetings, and approving initial IEPs. I will really enjoy working again when I am finished tutoring and only working one job.

Kevin, Quentin, and I had the last week off together for Spring Break. We have had a wonderful time hanging out at home and spending time together as a family. Tricia was visiting over the weekend and Q loves spending time with his Aunt Tink. She's such a natural with kids. Over our break we went down to Seal Beach to visit Great Grandma Penny and took Q to the beach for the first time, went to Escondido to visit Jess, Keith, and Averie, spent Easter at Great Grandpa Hugo's, and went to Disneyland with Grandma Marianne. We have had so much fun.
