I think that it is only fitting that my second appreciation is for my mom on Mother's Day. I could spend all day telling you all of the reasons I appreciate my mom. As I get closer to being a mom myself (no, I am not pregnant) I can tell you that what I appreciate my mom for the most on Mother's Day is that she is the perfect model for motherhood. From staying up to rub my head so I would go to sleep at night, to nearly pulling all of her hair out through my teen years, to never truly letting me go (which I love), she has shown me that being a mom is being there, no matter what. (Especially the no matter what part). Who I am today has a lot to do with my mom. I am one of the most determined and driven people out there and I owe all of my ambition to my mom. I would pinpoint the second I became so driven to the moment in the hospital, right after I was born, when my mom said that I was going to be president. From my first moments she instilled in me the idea that I could be anything, no matter my gender. My mom has lived everyday making sure that we are happy and have the best life she can possibly provide. No matter how far away I am, I feel her right there with me. (The two or three phone calls a day help). I love you Mom.
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart).
